Tribology
is the science and technology of interacting surfaces
in relative motion. It includes the study and application
of the principles of  friction, lubrication and wear.
The word "tribology" derives from the Greek "tribo" meaning "rub", and "logos" meaning

"principle or logic".

Tribology plays an important role in manufacturing. In metal-forming operations, friction increases tool wear and the power required to work a piece. This results in increased costs due to more frequent tool replacement, loss of tolerance as tool dimensions shift, and greater forces are required to shape a piece. A layer of lubricant which eliminates surface contact virtually eliminates tool wear and decreases needed power by one third.  This is why your equipment will run cooler, quieter, cleaner, more efficiently and last longer with Texas Refinery Corporation High Performance Lubricants.

What Exactly is a Lubrication Failure? Mark Barnes

If you ask anybody who's been around maintenance why precision lubrication is important, nine times out of 10 he or she will answer "to prevent failures." While this basic statement cannot be argued, let's stop to consider the actual meaning of a failure. The two most common types of failure are catastrophic and functional. continued

Ten Hot Lubrication Trends

An article from  Machinery Lubrication  magazine - confirms our logic and methods of taking care of your equipment investments.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

Enacted in 1975, it is the federal statute that governs warranties on consumer products. In essence, following manufacturer recommendations for specifications is all that is required to maintain a manufacturer warranty.  The manufacturer cannot mandate the brand or the length of time or mileage on the oil. John Deere, Harley Davidson and Stihl all love to sell you oil.  They can't force you to buy it - but they spend millions of dollars trying to make you believe you should.  They also spend millions of dollars learning how to sell you parts through extensive R&D in the Planned Obsolescence Department.

The main reason parts wear out is improper lubrication.  Counter the Planned Obsolescence Program designed and built in to your equipment with a Warranted TRC High Performance Industrial Lubricant Program.

High pressure Diesel injection systems make proper fuel filtration even more important.

"There is a  principle which is a bar against all information, which is a proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance.  That principle is condemnation before investigation."
